Watering Can "Yorkshire Coast"

I saw it in a shop in Moscow (very funny!) and could not help buying it - this decoupage paper with vintage posters of Yorkshire coastal resorts and GNR (Great Northern Railway)!



Because they are vintage images the style was obviously vintage and I've choosen various shades of bluish grey. I like it myself actually, a rare occasion...

New Year Diaries

End of year means a new year, a new year means a new diary, it means decoupage! Every year I decorate 3-4 diaries with a very different images, but this one - medieval book illustrations - is always in presence. I bought this paper two years ago in some museum in Munich and use everywhere since. Sorry to bore you with the repeats but I love this paper to bits!



Of course I can't stay away from a vintage theme! This year it's going to be Americana and Wild West. Hope I haven't overdone ageing!..

Victoriana

This magazine folder is decorated with lovely paper with prints of victorian labels on it. I have it aged a bit with patina and small cracks. The inside is painted in deep colour which adds vintage feel.

Tiny Seeds and Huge Camelia

It seems I didn't show this small box which I decorated as a seed box. You see it's made im my favorite "dirty vintage" style! If you drop it on soil in the garden or handle with dirty hands it will do it no harm at all!..

And talking about seeds... Look at this enormous camelia I've seen recently visiting Lyme Park
It grows in an orangery and what you see is a single(!) tree!

A Gift for the Gardener

We are nearly in March now and all my thoughts are about gardening! Just before Christmas I bought lovely napkins with botanical prints on them and could not wait to put them to use. Here is a gardening set of seed box and string tin!

Wall Mirror

I am not very keen on these mirrors, I think them useless as a proper functional mirror. May be try them as a decorative object? I am sure you've seen a lot of items decorated in this style, with 3D ornaments, I am always the last one to try! And then I come across this master-class and having the mirror already primed and painted I decided to give it a go! 3D details turned out far from perfect and I highlighted it by adding craquelure and patina. Now it looks like it was made of ivory long-long ago!

A Diary and a Letter Stand

It is not only Christmas but a new year is coming. Time to get a new diary. I made a few and want to show this set of a diary and a letter stand in vintage style. To add an aged feel I used a blue patination with golden paint on the diary.

Magazine Files

I like to make functional things, something practical, that can be used every day. Something like these magazine files here - they are solid plywood,
painted inside and out and decorated in a rather neutral way.

Vintage Christmas Decoration

I started to make Christmas decoration and the first ones are these wooden hearts in vintage style. Usually I am not very keen on using golden or silver leaf, but in this case I thought it was appropriate.

Le Boudoir

I have a rather hectic time just now with school holiday, family visits and so on! All I can do is to tidy up my pictures a bit and organise them in some sort of themed collections. I named this one Le Boudoir because the objects are made for a lady's bedroom mainly.
