A new Watering Can

Watering Can "A Rose Garden"

The most of watering cans I decorate are of small size, less than 3 litre capacity, more suitable for watering houseplants or to use in the conservatory or greenhouse. But sometimes I work with a watering can of proper size!



This is proper 9 litre watering can for a garden. The only problem is that if it's left outside for a too long time especially in cold and rainy weather the decoration could be damaged. I put a lot of effort in protecting it with many layers of hard wearing varnish and still I warn castomers not to leave it outside after use.

A few little things

Not exactly "a few", just two, sorry!



This little watering can is going to be the last in the serie because it's my last blank of such type.



The pail is a bit out of season with autumn theme but I like the napkin so much I couldn't help myself!

It seems overly decorated but everyone might want to make something different occasionally!



And no single crackling, have you noticed?

Watering Can "Yorkshire Coast"

I saw it in a shop in Moscow (very funny!) and could not help buying it - this decoupage paper with vintage posters of Yorkshire coastal resorts and GNR (Great Northern Railway)!



Because they are vintage images the style was obviously vintage and I've choosen various shades of bluish grey. I like it myself actually, a rare occasion...

Watering Can "Fox Hunting"

This is one of my most favorite decoupage papers, I like a theme and I like the style of painting. I have already made a watering can with hunting scenes once but this one is very different despite the similar theme.

Once I was asked about my painting. I can't paint, but sometimes I could manage to mix colours and disguise the boundaries of the decoupage paper - here is how the watering can looked like at the very beginning!

The garden and gardening were and still are my main motivations in decoupage. And it means watering cans and more watering cans! Sorry!..

Rocking Horse and Rickety Train

I love images of old fashioned toys like this rocking horse and woodent train, I would use them everywhere! Even on the watering can! The shape of the can is very traditional and the toy's pictures are rather bright so I made a decor very simple just to highlight the beauty of these lovely children's toys.

Watering Can "Morning Glory"

Just before Christmas I was asked to make a watering can as a Christmas present to a relative of my friend. It was suppose to be a present for an older lady that is why I made it in very traditional style. The friend did not want to wait until I finish varnishing and got another my watering can and I put this one aside for a while. Now with all this mild weather I started to think "spring! gardening!" and came back to this can. I added some shading, specks, finished varnishing and here we are! The first watering can of the season!

Run, Rabbit, run!

I was commissioned to make a watering can with images of rabbits. I am not very fond of rabbits and usually do not use images of pets in my decoupage. But I have no choice and these are two watering cans - with real bunnies and some characters of Beatrix Potter books. Both cans have already gone to their new homes - apparently people do like rabbits!

Poppy Field

This is my favorite time in the garden, poppy flowering time... They are so bright and bold and their beauty is so fleeting, it is just irresistable! I have a few varieties, this salmon pink "Princess Louise" is my darling. I am not very keen on orangy types, but look at the size! Of course they need their own watering can, and here we are!

Hydrangea Watering Can

Gardening is in full swing and you can't do without a watering can. Yes, this is a watering can again!


My hydrangea is not flowering yet, but roses, clematis, poppies,
lupines - they are just beautiful!
