I saw it in a shop in Moscow (very funny!) and could not help buying it - this decoupage paper with vintage posters of Yorkshire coastal resorts and GNR (Great Northern Railway)!
Because they are vintage images the style was obviously vintage and I've choosen various shades of bluish grey. I like it myself actually, a rare occasion...
It's a joke but not completely! In Wednesday's issue of local newspaper The Press there was an article about the beautiful shop which is run by lovely ladies and my good friends Anna and Jemma. This is Anna in the picture:
And in there they've mentioned my name specifically and presented me as one of their main suppliers, a very crafty person and so on! All very flattery! With a picture of one of my Xmas decorations! Isn't it great?
This is
a Link to the article.
Of course publicity is a great power! The very next morning a lady came in the shop and asked about my works in particular and bought three(!!) of them! As you can imagine I am very happy with this!
I have been reminded recently that there were no posts about my garden for a long time. It's true and it's a bit unfair because the garden just starts to look bright and cheerful. Daffodils time!
I have quite a few daffodil varieties. Some names I do not know because they were given to me by a friend. I love them nevertheless, they are so reliable!
These are "February Gold" (flowering later in my shady garden) and dainty "Geranium"
This is a delicate scented "Thalia"
This one is a new addition to my small collection "Cassata" with large lily like flowers:
Of course it's not just daffodils - here is a pulmonaria "Blue Ensigh" with lovely deep blue flowers and viburnum "Dawn".
These hyacinths were forced bulbs once but I planted them out in the garden and they flower every year since. And the last picture is of my favorite spring flower - tiny bright blue scilla siberica.
I want to tell you about the second home of all that things I am making - a nice little shop - 70, Gillygate, York, YO31 7EQ. They are very welcomed there and cared for until somebody loves them to take them home.
The shop is on Facebook - Here, with some pictures of what they have to offer. The last picture shows Jemma, who runs the shop together with Anna, her friend (and mine!). If you are in York you are very welcome to pop in, look around and have a chat with these lovely and friendly ladies!
